Job title: Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper

We are one of the leading worktop manufacturers in the UK and due to growth we are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our accounts team. We are looking for an efficient individual with an eye for detail, excellent written and verbal/ communication skills. You must be very comfortable using IT and have excellent Excel skills. GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF SAGE 50 ESSENTIAL and an AAT level 4 qualification will be a major advantage.

Responsibilities will include:
Posting entries on Sage 50
Create and send sales invoices
Maintain the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledgers
Managing Aged debtors & creditors
Take payments from clients
Assist with bank reconciliations
Assist and prepare weekly Cash Flow forecast
Do stock and asset valuations
Prepare the monthly reports to company Accountant who shall prepare the Management Accounts
VAT returns – prepare and submit the Quarterly VAT returns online
Administration – filing and maintenance of files relating to banking, invoices, suppliers, etc.
Overtime – flexible to work overtime if required to continue to meet deadlines

Skills Required:
Excellent numeracy and being accurate with high attention to detail
Excellent Communication skills (with employees, clients, accountants, tax offices and suppliers)
Self-Motivated and be able to work on own initiative
Minimum of 1 year experience
Sage 50 Experience
AAT Level 4 would be a major advantage

Job Type: Full-time, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)

Immediate start available, however we will honour a candidate’s notice period where applicable.
